  1. There are tons of effective ways to use technology to support student learning. The main one for me in math is to use graphing tools to graph relations that students have not even learned about yet. Online assessment tools are perfect for getting instant feedback from your students.

The internet can impact student learning by exposing them to endless resources instead of limited resources of information. This is extremely helpful in finding connections to the content for each student. For math, data can be found on endless topics. If a student is using data from something that interests them, they are more open to learning about the topic. Also, using the internet will prepare them for their future in high school, college, and their career field. Internet research and communication are essential in almost all career fields today. Learning about technology is now essential for our students' success in the future.

  2. I agree! I think there are many effective ways to use technology to support and assess student learning. One reason for supporting student learning is that technology, most of the time, puts students in charge of their learning. In today's online world, we can gather information, create games, assessments, webquests, blogs, collaborative activities, Glogs, wikis, and other activities to support student learning. I am thoroughly enjoying using Google forms. I use them to gather information and check for understanding. I can see them being highly effective in the classroom setting.
The Internet can impact student learning in negative and positive ways. It has an endless amount of resources, therefore it's important for students to understand how to use the resources appropriately. I think the most effective avenue the internet can provide is meeting the needs of all students. There is something for everyone in the online world.

  3. There is so much technology available that it's almost difficult NOT to use it to support and assess student learning. Games and educational apps on the iPhone/Touch/iPad, interactive white boards and student response systems, all the web2.0 tools that are available-- there's so much it's almost hard to choose what tools are best for a particular need. I think teachers have to find one or two tech tools to focus on at a time, and build a comfort level with those before adding others.
The internet has and will continue to impact student learning in a variety of ways. I agree that students need to understand how to use the resources in ways that will benefit them, so it's critical to teach students internet safety and develop awareness of their 'digital footprint' beginning in elementary school. It's important to provide students with critical thinking, literacy and research skills to help them make wise choices when using the internet. Most students get really excited when they are given internet access, though I'd say many of them are looking for entertainment, and end up focusing on social media, multimedia, and games. Teachers need to monitor student use of the internet and make students accountable for finding and using appropriate internet resources.

  4. Immediate feedback of student's assessment is huge in supporting technology with student learning. When you are given the opportunity as a teacher to give online test, an evaluation, or create a blog for students and immediately get results in the teaching and learning process, you see how vital the use of technology is in the classroom. Using technology puts the students in charge of what they are learning, producing, or creating. It makes learning fun and challenging!

The Internet is a "super highway" constantly changing every second for all students. Regardless of a child's ability, the Internet has resources that can be challenging, helpful and has a way to make learning easier. Internet safety plays a vital role is all grades and teachers have to help students accountable and make appropriate choices online. We are living in a digital world where you will always find an answer - or there are ways to keep looking on the computer - this in itself is motivation for students to want to learn.

  5. I have noticed many new ways to affect student learning through technology. The use of web based and cloud type programs have greatly increased the availability of programs for students to use. with these just a computer and internet connection are needed to accomplish just about anything.

  6. I think one of the most overwhelming benefits to incorporating technology into my curriculum is that I am preparing my students for the global marketplace. Technology can support student learning by allowing them to collaborate in real time and connect to others on a global level.Technology can also be used to assess student learning immediately so students can receive timely feedback.
